In April of 2007 the federal government released a framework for managing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Canada. The framework included as a key element regulated emissions intensity targets for industry as well as a number of flexibility mechanisms that can be used to meet those targets. Action Alert: Alberta's Climate Change Plan

The Alberta Government needs to hear from you about its climate change plan.

Through its website, the government is soliciting comments from the public on what should be included in its new plan. Here are a few things you can do to make sure the Alberta government knows that the public demands action on climate change.

  1. Fill out the online climate change workbook before April 25th to make sure that the government hears your views on how it should tackle climate change. Don’t have time to fill in the workbook? Just download an already completed workbook and email it in.
  2. Write directly to the Minister of the Environment to make sure that your views are heard. Don’t have time to write a letter? Attached is a sample letter to help you out.
  3. Contact your MLA directly, and let him or her know how you feel about what the government needs to do to address climate change.
